If you’ve been listening to Straight Shot Health Talk for any amount of time you know that eating right and exercise are two of the Fundamental Four for wellness.
Most of us also know that being “in shape” feels better than being “out of shape.”
Still we struggle to get started.
Often we say it’s because we’re “too busy” or that we’ll “get started in a week or two.” But then those weeks turn into months, and we still haven’t done anything.
So today we’re talking with my friend, Vic Magary. Vic has been helping people get, and stay, in shape for almost fifteen years.
What I like about Vic’s approach is he has his clients start with the most impactful activities for health FIRST. Then he helps them add on what should come NEXT in a common-sense approach.
This methodical progression is much different than how we often try to “get into shape” on our own. Most of us (me included) try to make too many changes too fast.
We start out of the gates blazing away… then burn out almost as fast as we started.
(Think “New Year’s Resolution” here… and the sad statistic that only about 8% of people successfully achieve them).
Well, if you’re tired of feeling sick and tired, but not sure about how to start “getting in shape” successfully this episode is for you.
In it Vic and I discuss:
- Three steps to physical fitness (and the first two aren’t exercise).
- How best intentions can be your worst enemy.
- What “Real Food” is and where to find it.
And the four exercises everyone should do for their health.
Stability Ball Leg Curls (I had a hard time picturing how to do these in the interview. This short video helped!)
